Une id\u00e9e partag\u00e9e par de plus en plus de monde.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Qu\u2019ont en commun les d\u00e9c\u00e8s de Charlie Wilson en IndyCar, Jules Bianchi en F1, de Henry Surtees en F2 (2009) ou la lourde blessure de Felipe Massa en Hongrie en 2009 ? Tous ces accidents sont arriv\u00e9s par un choc \u00e0 la t\u00eate par un d\u00e9bris ou un impact. Ils mettent en \u00e9vidence le point faible de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des monoplaces : La t\u00eate qui d\u00e9passe. Peut-\u00eatre qu\u2019avec un cockpit ferm\u00e9, cela aurait pu \u00eatre \u00e9vit\u00e9 m\u00eame si ce n\u2019est pas certain pour Jules Bianchi et encore moins pour Henry Surtees, fils de John, champion du monde de F1 en 1964 .&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"420\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0eHU5Bqe_4Q\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">L\u2019id\u00e9e du cockpit ferm\u00e9 fait son chemin au sein des instances dirigeantes de la Formule 1, des \u00e9curies et des pilotes. Interrog\u00e9 par Autosport, le directeur de course Charlie Whiting a r\u00e9cemment d\u00e9clar\u00e9 travailler dessus \u00ab<em> depuis quelques ann\u00e9es<\/em> \u00bb et avoir \u00ab <em>quelques solutions \u00e0 tester, certaines plus efficaces que d\u2019autres <\/em>\u00bb. Et d\u2019ajouter : \u00ab<em> Nous avons eu l\u2019approche du cockpit d\u2019avion, mais les c\u00f4t\u00e9s n\u00e9gatifs d\u00e9passaient largement les c\u00f4t\u00e9s positifs. Nous avons eu des structures assez moches devant le pilote, mais ils ne peuvent pas rouler avec parce qu\u2019ils ne peuvent pas voir avec \u00e7a<\/em> \u00bb<\/p>\n<h2>L\u2019id\u00e9e de Mercedes<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">L\u2019isolation compl\u00e8te du cockpit semble \u00eatre une id\u00e9e exclue par la FIA du fait d\u2019une potentielle g\u00eane occasionn\u00e9e aux secours en cas de dommage. Reste \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper des alternatives comme celle propos\u00e9e par Mercedes dans la vid\u00e9o qui suit. Un arceau plus haut que le casque du pilote tenu par un fin poteau central, d\u00e9nu\u00e9 de surface vitr\u00e9e et rattach\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019encadrement mouss\u00e9 (cette sorte d\u2019air bump de la F1 permettant une meilleure a\u00e9rodynamique) et donc plus facilement extractible.<\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/opZzDv_C9eQ\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Une autre solution est \u00e9voqu\u00e9e avec l\u2019introduction de pales de diff\u00e9rentes tailles et hauteurs, toutes plac\u00e9es selon un angle permettant au pilote d\u2019\u00e0 peine les percevoir. En plus de la visibilit\u00e9 offerte au pilote, de l\u2019aspect esth\u00e9tique et de la r\u00e9sistance au choc, une autre donn\u00e9e fondamentale est \u00e0 prendre en consid\u00e9ration, celle de l\u2019extraction facile et rapide du pilote, notamment en cas d\u2019incendie. Rappelons qu\u2019une Formule 1 dispose toujours d\u2019un r\u00e9servoir d\u2019essence d\u2019une capacit\u00e9 d\u2019environ 100 litres\u2026 <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Si l\u2019Histoire de la F1 s\u2019est \u00e9crite avec des cockpits ouverts, il ne fait plus l\u2019ombre d\u2019une doute d\u00e9sormais qu\u2019elle se poursuivra avec des cockpits plus ou moins ferm\u00e9s.
