Une marque soutenue par Renault avant de devenir une pi\u00e8ce essentielle de l\u2019alliance Renault-Nissan en 1999. Citro\u00ebn aussi s\u2019implanta en Roumanie, un peu par hasard, au milieu des ann\u00e9es 1970, avec l\u2019Oltcit.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Appel d\u2019offre de Ceausescu<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00c0 l\u2019origine, il y avait le projet Y. O\u00f9 comment Citro\u00ebn travaillait sur une nouvelle gamme de citadine 3 et 5 portes \u00e0 l\u2019horizon 1975. Sauf qu\u2019en 1974, Peugeot rach\u00e8te Citro\u00ebn obligeant les deux marques \u00e0 davantage de synergie. Le Projet Y (et la Citro\u00ebn Axel qui devait en d\u00e9couler) apparait alors comme un doublon face au duo Peugeot 104 Coup\u00e9 et Citro\u00ebn Visa. Il est remis\u00e9 aux oubliettes en d\u00e9pit des investissements consentis. Dans le m\u00eame temps et comme par miracle, Ceausescu cherche \u00e0 cr\u00e9er un second constructeur roumain \u00e0 mettre en face de Dacia avec ses R12 d\u00e9badg\u00e9es Renault. La simplicit\u00e9 du mod\u00e8le, sa modestie et l\u2019amiti\u00e9 franco-roumaine (et quelques \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9) permettent la signature d\u2019un accord en 1976. Suivra un trou noir administratif de 5 ans avant l\u2019inauguration d\u2019une usine en Olt\u00e9nie. D\u2019o\u00f9 le nom de la voiture l\u2019Oltcit, les trois derni\u00e8res lettres rappellent son origine Citro\u00ebn.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Obligation de vendre \u00e0 l\u2019Ouest<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autosphere.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/edd20a2e1861d04c4eb7508a1d077c0e.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">L\u2019histoire aurait pu en rester l\u00e0. Sauf qu\u2019un d\u00e9tail du contrat pr\u00e9voyait que l\u2019Oltcit devait \u00eatre \u00e9galement commercialis\u00e9e en Europe de l\u2019Ouest, \u00e0 hauteur de 40% ! Renomm\u00e9e Axel (comme il \u00e9tait pr\u00e9vu \u00e0 l\u2019origine), elle est commercialis\u00e9e chez nous en 1984, le temps que la Citro\u00ebn Visa tombe en d\u00e9su\u00e9tude. Pas sp\u00e9cialement laide (selon les crit\u00e8res de l\u2019\u00e9poque) avec ses motorisations de 57 ont 61 chevaux, son c\u00f4t\u00e9 voiture petit budget aurait pu en faire un joli succ\u00e8s d\u2019estime, sauf que peu de concessions Citro\u00ebn ont accept\u00e9 de mettre en valeur une voiture absolument pas made in France ! \u00c0 peine 28 000 exemplaires ont \u00e9t\u00e9 vendus entre 1984 et 1990 (sur une production sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 200 000), date \u00e0 laquelle Citro\u00ebn d\u00e9cide d\u2019arr\u00eater les frais dans la foul\u00e9e de la chute (et l\u2019ex\u00e9cution) de Nicolae Ceausescu.<\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/t3YITVwokP4\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sauf qu\u2019avec le recul, cette Citro\u00ebn Axel est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e par beaucoup comme la derni\u00e8re vraie Citro\u00ebn, comprenez hors PSA.
