De 2001 \u00e0 2002, ceux qui parvenaient \u00e0 faire le \u00ab Burger de la mort \u00bb repartait avec un Chrysler PT Cruiser. D\u2019o\u00f9 l\u2019id\u00e9e de cet article.<\/p>\n<h2>La carrosserie pas banale (et un peu fran\u00e7aise).<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Si la question automobile vous int\u00e9ressait dans les ann\u00e9es 2000 (ou pas d\u2019ailleurs), vous avez certainement eu un avis sur le PT Cruiser. Beaucoup l\u2019ont trouv\u00e9 d\u00e9testable parce qu\u2019il bousculait les conventions esth\u00e9tiques. D\u2019autres \u00e9taient charm\u00e9s par une voiture \u00e0 l\u2019allure tr\u00e8s originale avec cet esprit hot road n\u00e9o-r\u00e9tro associ\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019id\u00e9e d\u2019un monospace compact donnant au final l\u2019impression d\u2019un lointain cousin d\u2019un taxi londonien. Et si le v\u00e9hicule a cess\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re en 2010, consid\u00e9rons que 8 ans plus tard les standards de l\u2019esth\u00e9tique automobile sont nettement plus sages pour ne pas dire ennuyeux. Le PT Cruiser \u00e9tait le fruit d\u2019un design auquel a particip\u00e9 Clotaire Rapaille. Le Fran\u00e7ais conjugue la psychiatrie et la psychanalyse au marketing. Son livre des \u00ab <em>7 secrets of Marketing in a multi-Cultural World <\/em>\u00bb en dit long sur l\u2019id\u00e9e de m\u00e9langer les go\u00fbts pour plaire au plus grand nombre.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autosphere.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/e75c72ce7503efd8f292f0158b21c6cb.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Une version cabriolet fut ajout\u00e9e en 2004 ainsi qu\u2019une multitude de versions et s\u00e9ries sp\u00e9ciales plut\u00f4t color\u00e9es. Un \u00e9quivalent de 143 chevaux essence fut \u00e9galement propos\u00e9e tandis que le GT Cruiser d\u00e9veloppait jusqu\u2019\u00e0 223 chevaux !<\/p>\n<h2>1,3 million d\u2019exemplaires tout de m\u00eame !<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En Europe, le PT Cruiser fut la Chrysler la mieux vendue par le constructeur am\u00e9ricain avant de plier bagages. Preuve que cette automobile ne fut pas l\u2019\u00e9chec commercial absolu que l\u2019on croit parfois. Mieux, il s\u2019en est \u00e9coul\u00e9 1,3 million d\u2019exemplaires dans le monde. Enfin surtout 1,1 million aux USA ! L\u00e0-bas, la carri\u00e8re du PT Cruiser fut plut\u00f4t correcte. Il faut dire que Chrysler s\u2019en est donn\u00e9 les moyens. De la s\u00e9rie \u00ab <em>The Office<\/em> \u00bb (Michael Scott l\u2019a en v\u00e9hicule de fonction) en passant par le film \u00ab <em>2 Fast 2 Furious<\/em> \u00bb et jusqu\u2019\u00e0 cette publicit\u00e9 lunaire pour la gamme Chrysler avec C\u00e9line Dion qui chante \u00ab<em> I Drove All Night<\/em> \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ABARe0ywhho\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>Massacr\u00e9e par les tuners<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autosphere.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/4d73fc64c007dac535fcbf524fcddc5d.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le d\u00e9ficit d\u2019image du PT Cruiser n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 aid\u00e9 par divers travaux de pr\u00e9parateurs automobiles. Les tuners se sont souvent pench\u00e9s sur le mod\u00e8le am\u00e9ricain et le r\u00e9sultat a souvent \u00e9t\u00e9 horrible. P\u00eale-m\u00eale, m\u00e9ga jantes chrom\u00e9es et pneus runflat, conversion forc\u00e9e au pick-up, portes \u00e0 \u00e9lytres, des calandres XXL et donc cette version Alien\u2026 A bien y r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir, le travail le plus abouti d\u2019un pr\u00e9parateur sur le PT Cruiser reste celui l\u2019Italien Zanardo dans la version corbillard. Et comme on le dit dans notre article \u00ab <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosphere.fr\/blog\/media\/buzz-et-insolite\/10-corbillards-denfer-\/1369\/\">10 corbillards d\u2019enfer<\/a> \u00bb, semble-t-il que cette version a eu un v\u00e9ritable succ\u00e8s aupr\u00e8s des professionnels.
